Meet Me On Monday::.

1.  Did you watch the Superbowl?

We did watch. I played around on the internet looking up at important parts, but The Husband did watch. Haven wanted Green-Bay to win, so she was a happy fan.

2.  What is the last book that you read?

The last book I had the chance to read was Breaking Dawn.

3.  What is your favorite kind of cake?

I seriously love ALL cake. I had a really tough time choosing, but I decided on Red Velvet Cream Cheese Cake. I feel like I've shamed Chocolate on Chocolate Cake, Peanut-butter Chocolate Cake, Chocolate on Vanilla Cake...seriously, I like cake.

4.  Do you snore?

Actually, I'm the only one in this house who doesn't snore. I plug The Husband's nose for a few seconds sometimes in hopes to mute the torture. It doesn't really work long enough to be effective. Most nights I just hope to go to sleep first.

5.  Do you play an instrument?

This one time, at band camp.....

I most definelty did play the flute in high school.

Go link up with Java!

Paper Mama Photo Challenge::Self Portrait

 I'm linking up with Chelsea for this week's challenge: self portrait.

The Paper Mama

Scavenger Hunt Sunday::.

1. Water

I went to the archives for this one. This is Haven and I after a day on the lake.

2. Quote

"The moments we share are the memories we keep."
This is hanging is my living-room, and I just love it.

3. Window

I'll be thankful when this scene looks a little more green, but how can you not fall in love with the amazement she has watching the white landscape?

4. Activity

 This is Olivia modeling for the camera. I wanted to get her and Angel sun bathing, but they weren't having it. Angel hid and Olivia started striking poses like Kate Moss--without the coke.

5. Page 25 of a magazine

This is page 25 of our hometown profile magazine.

Go visit Ashley and check out the other scavenger hunters.

Haven is my mini-me, and we are cool chicks..obviously ;) I love her bedding so much, I offered to trade her my chocolate brown set....she didn't see the logic in that deal I guess.

Meet Me On Monday::.

I heard about this link up through Jessica. It's Meet Me On Monday over at Never Growing Old. Swing over and say "hi" to Java and link up!

1.  What is your favorite kind of fudge?

Chocolate (not dark) with nuts of course. Preferably my Memaw's recipe (hand picked black walnuts included)--which none of us have perfected yet.

2.  Is there snow outside your window?

This is right outside my bedroom window. Yep. We have snow. Although it's beautiful and fun to play in--and I really have taken the time to enjoy it this year, I just don't care for snow. I wish I could say, "Snow?? What's that???" Buuuuuut we have about 6 inches hanging around and are expecting a few more. Is it Spring yet?

3.  What is your favorite meal of the day?
Dinner! We're all together (most of the time) and at the table. Dinner is easily my favorite. This weird looking, but delicious dish is what Haven has dubbed "Cheesy, Cheesy Baked Spaghetti-Lasagna." (Ignore the burnt cheese on the sides and the chip in my casserole dish-- STOPJUDGINME!! :)  I've made this dish a lot this lately. I plan on making it Thursday and linking up with Keli at Feeding Four  for her "What's Cooking Thursday" link up. But who knows...I might change my mind and do something different.

4.  Do you text on your cell phone?
I'm a sexting texting machine! If I'm not texting, we're not talking. Very rarely do I talk on the phone...unless it's business related and even then I communicate a lot through text. I'm busy, and I usually have people under 4ft (not midgets--my kids) screaming, playing and being as loud as possible. Anytime I may get on the phone for a conversation, somehow my kids censor in immediately and know to amp up the volume a few notches. I don't know how they do it, but it never fails--even if I hide.

 5.  Waffles or pancakes?

Firstly, for those of you that didn't see this coming... I apologize. Really, I sorta do. I couldn't find any cute pictures of our pancake creations (hearts, fish, etc.), so I just used this breakfast shot I took of the breakfast I made for the Husband (aren't I hilarious?) when the kiddos were at Nana's. SO obviously, I chose pancakes. Although I have no prejudice against waffles. Waffles and I? We're on good terms.

All photos belong to me--except photo 1 and 4--I used those courtesy of google.

Color Splash Sunday::.

It's Color Splash Sunday over at Artistically Amy and I'm linking up.

 I LOVE splash color.... I don't know why I've been such a stranger in CSS. It's one of my favorite editing styles. I chose this picture of Ashton for two reasons:

1. Ashton's face is HIL.AR.IOUS.

2. The blue sky is PERFECT.

You should head over and link up, too. Doooooo it.

SOOC Saturday Week #3 Link Up::.

This is a shot I caught of Ashton while we were out snowing it up. The Husband is running through the snow with rope in hand, over the custom built ramp, with this little guy on the other end. He defiantly got some air! Haven was in on the fun too.

I'm joining my new blog friend, Amy, over at Marvelous Mommy for her Straight Out of the Camera link up. (raw, unedited photos..straight out of your camera!) Go check out the other great photos and link up!

Fix-It Friday::83

Original shot by Angie.

My Edit 1
For this edit, I used simple techniques in Picasa. I brightened the sky, shadowed the harsh lines in the trees for texture and added a slight glow overlay.

My Edit 2
For this edit I used Picnik Editor. I repeated steps from edit 1, added matte frame in a burnt autumn color, soften all lines and used a glow overlay.

My Edit 3
It wouldn't be right if I didn't do a black and white with pop color. It's just me. I use it for everything. I saw the original and fell in love with the green shoes...and with foliage like that, how could I not? To start off, I used the same steps as in edit 1. I then went black and white in Picnik and restored the color in the trees and shoes. Bam.

Check out all the other incredible edits over at iheartfaces for Fix It Friday!

31 Day Photo Challenge::Day 20::.

Day 20: A Photo of a place you would like to travel

I found this photo through google here: http://questionshaveanswers.blogspot.com/2009/09/why-were-galapagos-islands-important-to.html

When I was in the third grade, our class was assigned reports on random locations. It was all official like--we drew from a hat and everything. I drew Galapagos Islands, and I remember thinking what the fuck?! Ok I probably didn't use such colorful words, but you get my general point...Anyways, being the superb student I was, I did my research--found that there were giant turtles, and I was hooked. In middle school-ish I learned about Darwin and what a mind romp he was. Fascinating! I've been in love ever since.

One day.....one day I will have saved enough pennies and I will take my mini scientist there. You see, Haven is hooked, too. Example: While searching for this pretty photo above, Haven happened to glance and see a few photos...immediately she spouts, "HEY! GALAPAGOS! Why are you looking at The Galapagos Islands?????" She's six. Yep. She's going to get a wedgie or two......and then grow up to be a famous oceanographer (this is a real aspiration of hers) at which point she can give the wedgies. BUT I SWEAR ON ALL THAT IS HOLY, I WILL PUT GUM IN THE HAIR OF ANY CHILD OF ANY AGE (0-90) THAT HARASSES EITHER OF MY CHILDREN....AND PSYCHO RANT...OFF.

PS: Nope, I wasn't bullied. I was on the other side. I was that little bitch in class you wish you could have punched in the lunch line, went all Carry on at Prom, and prayed would get VD. Ok, I wasn't THAT bad, but being an adult and looking back---kids are assholes. I mean ASSHOLES. And I don't want my children to be on either side of situations like that. So in my blossoming knowledge of how to treat other humans, I've been extremely thorough on self-respect, respect for others and kindness when teaching my children. I think it's my job as a parent to prepare my humans for society---and I think we all can agree that we have enough fuck ups in the world without releasing a few more delinquents. So that's my parenting philosophy.

31 Day Photo Challenge::Day 19::.

Day 19: A Picture and a Letter

Dear Mom,
I'm not okay with our relationship. I feel like you don't 'get' me or want to. Seriously sometimes it seems like you would rather be walking rabid dogs than spending time with me, listening to my 'weird' jokes. It used to REALLY bother me, and I guess it still does, but I've pretty much callused. I think it's weird that this kink in our relationship only comes to head once in awhile--the rest of the time we converse like mere acquaintances to keep from getting too deep into each other's lives, pissing one another off. Even in this picture (and most with the two of us)--you look like you hate life.*Sigh* But you're the only Mom I have, and I'm lucky to have a mother at all. Besides, the mother/daughter relationships in movies are probably just as fairy tale as some prince waking a dead girl with his lips.
